Conflicting progress stats on Settlement pages
Not sure if this is a suggestion or a fix, but I've just noticed that the progress bar just under the map of York's Settlement page shows different stats for drawn/reviewed/verified/surveyed to where the same stats are shown lower down under “Collective progress”.
Why show the info twice in any case and why the discrepancy in the stats?
Cheers!

Hi,
Thanks so much for asking and flagging this up.
The progress bar are Slow Way stats, the circular charts are route stats. A Slow Way can have 1 or more routes. In the case of York it has 8 Slow Ways (stats at the top) and currently 11 routes (stats further down).
I hope this helps. Do you think we maybe need to add a few words to clarify that on the page?
Best wishes,

Oh! I hadn't worked that out. Yes I do get the difference between Slow Ways and routes. Hmmm, yes I think it might help if this were somehow explained, for people like me who don't get it at first!

Thank you. I'll share that and see what we can do.

On a related note, I recently noticed a discrepancy on Arnold's settlement page, which has the “Boom! Arnold is 100% connected" header message even though only 5 out of 6 of its SlowWays have been verified and surveyed, and the detailed list correctly shows 92% (22/24). What is the threshold for the Boom message?

Another question, again using York's page as an example. The progress bar shows 1/8 routes surveyed, whereas the complete list of routes below shows that 5 routes, covering 4 Slow Ways, have been surveyed by at least one person. Is there a reason for this that I haven't worked out?
Thanks!

Christine, I think I can answer that one. Surveys are only counted for the routes that are snailed/verified - I think the logic is that until there are three positive reviews an alternative route may overtake the surveyed route to become the first snailed route for the Slow Way. I remember reading a warning on the survey pages somewhere that surveying an unverified route is potentially wasted effort (not that I'd let that stop me).

Thanks Hugh. That makes sense and tallies with the data showing for York. Perhaps I should stop trying to do surveys just yet then! To be honest, I just did a survey of Yorhax two coz I'm on a personal mission to get people to verify it rather than Yorhax one (which had already been surveyed) and I hoped a survey might give the newer route more credibility! But ultimately the people will decide ;-)
Instead I can get on with walking the other routes in York's web and/or post new reviews for the York routes in different seasons or the opposite direction, all of which I hope will encourage more people to walk and review them.
