    Hi Neil,

Thanks for checking this.  I can see that you and Nic seem to have this sorted on the route page.

Huge thanks to both of you for your efforts and for Leoher four to come.

My understanding about file names is that the gpx file keeps it's file name as it's uploaded to the site.  The name as it appears in OS wouldn't be something we could change.  Which is interesting to note because I regularly amend routes rather than start from scratch.  Will keep that in mind for when I do that in future.

    Best wishes,
    Cristie

As the gpx file is machine readable and the tag for the route name is known it would be straight forward to replace it in the gpx as part of the upload process before it gets finally stored on slowways. This would also ensure consistency in naming.

Oh, that does sound useful.  I suspect my tech colleagues know this but I didn't.  So the name that appears on the OS screen (not the file name it goes by) is stored in the gpx code and could be changed?

The gpx is the only source of that route info that os maps will have when it's imported into os map. Presumably all the existing gpx files could also be renamed with a standard slowways title.

Thanks Neil.  I've made a note of it as something to look into further.  I know we've talked about how to process and update the file names.

    Best wishes,
    Cristie
