Cymmer (Neath Port Talbot)
There's a hilly area between several towns in South Wales which is crisscrossed with paths. originally these will have been very, very old tracks but now they have been widened and are mostly used by cyclists and vehicles travelling between wind turbines.
These tracks are ideal slow ways and can be used in the traditional way, to link the various towns and villages together. Currently, the network doesnt really use these tracks and many of the towns they could service also lack verified routes. The routes suggested on slow ways are often more complex than they need to be.
I propose adding the village of Cymmer as it's fairly central, with a couple of very useful tracks starting or ending here. By using the village as a sort of slow ways picadilly circus, it would be possible to add multiple verified, very walkable routes in this area very quickly.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. Those tracks do sound like they might be a good addition to the Slow Ways network. If you can spot Slow Ways that would be improved by using the tracks then please do create gpx files and upload them via the suggest a better route function. Or if you'd rather discuss some of them then you can contact me via hello@slowways.org and we can take a closer look.
The Slow Way Crynant - Maesteg passes through Cymmer already I noticed, although I think it's maybe using footpaths. I've made a note to consider Cymmer when the network is reviewed. It's likely that it will be added once we begin to make the network denser.
