Limited uptake in Gwynedd may be because not enough points reflect the routine locations that people walk between
I'd like to commit to reviewing routes in my home area of Gwynedd, but because so many of the nodes don't adequately reflect places which people like myself might routinely wish to walk between, the suggested routes aren't yet a good enough fit to match “slow routes” that many local people or visitors might find useful! Some of the current nodes are spaced too far apart, and some seem to be odd choices for target start/endpoints. Therefore I'd like to make a small series of practical suggestions for additional nodes. Hopefully this gives a much greater chance that folks might contribute and review. I cetainly would!
This is a pretty rural area, so key nodes might not simply be chosen because of their population size, but could equally be important because they're visited by virtue of being of significant interest, despite having relatively small population. They also may be strategic points that one might chose to call/stop at because of their significant facilities (even though they are small in terms of headcount!)
My suggestions for useful nodes would therefore include:
Penrhyndeudraeth
Penmachno
Dolwydddelan
Ogwen
Penygroes
Capel Curig
