Blocked 'privatised' footpaths
Has anyone else noticed sections of the Uk footpath network being blocked by landowners (and informing the council does nothing). One bad example is the Staffordshore Way, where it crosses the River Dove and a major road just east of Uttoxeter. There is no way to cross both the main dual carriageway road and the river on foot, from the SW to the NE. You have to make a long detour up the Rocester Road from Uttoxeter and then you can access the old stone bridge over the River Dove where the path continues north. All because a house near this river bridge has closed off a vital small footbridge.

Hello
There is a way to cross the dual carriageway near the old bridge over the Dove but it does take some finding.
Take the pavement alongside the road eastwards on the south side. After crossing the Dove there is a path right down and this twists and turns to pass under the road. If the river is in flood it will be impossible. This then brings you out at the east end of the old bridge. PS The Dove is the county boundary so is the issue in Staffs or Derbyshire?
