Unsafe route

I've pledged to test a route for the first time and have checked the route out prior to walking it. From my local knowledge I know this route is unsafe (crossing the A1 is likely to get me killed). I would like to propose a safer alternative route (which I plan to test in the coming days). How do I do this?

  Hi Simon. 

  Is this still on your mind? I've seen similar problems, looking promising on a map but suicidal in reality! Road expansion designs don't spend much effort on public footpaths. 

  Ideally you test the new version first, just to be sure. Then draw a new GPX file, I use the Plotaroute website / app which is free. Happy to flesh out this part if you'd like. There's a link on each Slow Ways Route page to Submit a new route. Preferably explain in the description why you're suggesting it.

  Personally I would also review the existing route with a no-holds-barred description of the problem, in this scenario you don't need to actually attempt it. Choose “Do Not Recommend” and flags appear on the route's front page and both end point pages too.
