Slow Ways - models of collaborative online projects - what works well and what are the challenges?

I've enjoyed being a volunteer on the project and I'm interested in learning more about how such large collaborative projects work - what makes them successful and what are the main challenges? Daniel - I wonder if you will be doing a write-up of your experience of Slow Ways? I work in the heritage sector, and have often wondered about engaging and tapping into expertise in the wider community - particularly  during these strange lockdown times when we are learning about new ways of working and making connections. I wonder if anybody else knows of similar projects on the go at the moment? Thank you.
