Direction rules for ascent/descent statistics
Having just completed a survey for Prelon one, I noticed that the ascent quoted is 26m and the descent is 120m. Given the name "Prelon" I would infer that these are the figures for the Preston to Longridge direction, however, I am certain that, in fact, these are the figures for the Longridge to Preston direction. I assume that the figures just depend on the direction in which the route was originally plotted, but should there be some consistent protocol? If so, I would have thought that the figures should be consistent with the direction implied by the naming. Once again, apologies if I've missed this discussion somewhere else!

Nobody has commented on this after 3 days.
I was led to understand that route information was west to east on the presentations earlier this week.
Having just downloaded Moncol, I find the route is taken in the opposite direction having been rather surprised at the ascent / descent figures given.
Does the route depend on how it's accessed? I started by looking for routes from Coleford.
Input from the team please?

Sounds like we have the same issue John!
I believe that this is a technical issue for the Slow Ways Team, so I will draw their attention to the matter by submitting a request, rather than leave it in this forum for general discussion.
