Suggesting slight amendments to a route

There was a short section of the route I reviewed today which basically went the long way around a rectanguar field. Instead of following the straight path that ran along the bottom of the field, it diverted around the other three sides of the field and then rejoined the main path. Is it worth suggesting a minor change? Both routes around the field are valid but the longer diversion seems a little odd.
