Chebol needs a new route

Hello,

Please would anyone like to create an alternative route for Chebol one? https://beta.slowways.org/Route/Chebol/4677

This part has been suggested as unsafe due to it being a fast back road with steep sides and little space for people to safely be off the road.  The grid reference is here https://goo.gl/maps/dx5b6d51A9Z11Gj27.

When I took a look the route I think there might be a better way to leave Bolsover and pick up footpaths that would avoid Carr Lane and the issue.  There is possibly also a need to have a wee tidy of the points along the routes as some go off the track.

Any help would as ever be really appreciated.

    Thought I'd take a break from the "500" errors that were besetting my reviews and new routes. I've started on a brand new Chebol route. On first glance I think I've got one that's much safer and 4km shorter!

    I offer two additional choices both a bit shorter but perhaps not much as chebol one is a bit sloppy plotting. I was about to say two alternatives but I'm told I can only have one.

    Do you know what, I never knew that! (clearly). I look forward to seeing your choices and checking I haven't made a duplicate, might submit my own alternative! (Once the 500 error gets fixed!)

    Regarding the 500 error, it may be because you have too many waypoints in your route?

    That was my problem for Beenot Three (but not Ashwir, strangely as that’s a good few miles longer).

    Thanks for the suggestion, I'm wondering whether it might be because I've just upgraded to the new version of the OS site. Saying that, a 500 error is server side so I'm hoping it can be sorted by the Slow Ways tech people

    In answer to your suggestion, it's a fairly sparsely pointed route so i don't think that's the issue.

    Hmmm! I think you're on to something! I've noticed the two new .gpx files are 9 and 10KB. The older gpx files were normally around 7KB

    Switched over to the old website and reexported the gpx file. It worked! Thanks Lynn!

    Hi,

    Thanks so much David and Ken for taking a look at Chebol.  

    I never realised either that I can only have one alternative.  Will remember that.

    I've taken Chebol one from the network.

    We're working on the error 500s and thanks so much for figuring out that it was the new OS files.  Great teamwork.

    Ah, that will be why the site accepted Ashwir but rejected Beenot!

    It could be.  We're still looking into it but David has definitely found a work around.

    Sadly, my workaround is to use the old OS site! I'm continuing to do that until there is a fix!
