Ascent and descent data
Two clarifications and a tech question please about ascent and descent data - these queries appear to have been raised before but I can't find answers on the website or Forum hence asking a fresh question here.
I'm assuming (but haven't checked) that although Slow Ways are designed to be walked in either direction, the ascents and descents given for the original routes correspond to when they are walked west to east, as they are named. Is this correct?
This presumably means that when we create new routes (I'm using the OS app) we should start west and finish east as well, so the ascents and descents can be compared like-for-like. Is this correct too?
Even if I'm right in these assumptions, however, I still have a problem in the data not showing: e.g. when I uploaded new route Yorhax two, even though my gpx file in OS maps shows ascent/descent data, this hasn't transferred onto the Slow Ways page. Does anyone know a fix for this?
Thanks!

Hello,
I'll do my best to help around ascent and descent data. We know that there are some files that when uploaded to the system the data doesn't pull across. It's something that we're looking into. Although I thought that OS maps was fine so I've raised this as a possible bug.
As far as I'm aware you're right that the ascent and descent are for going west to east. My understanding is that it doesn't matter which way you plot the route (west to east or east to west) it will show the ascent/descent as west to east. If others on the forum know more though please do add a comment.
Best wishes,
