Making Slow Ways website more user-friendly to new/casual users
I hope this doesn't sound too moany but one or two of my walking friends tell me that they find the Slow Ways site inaccessible and confusing. I'll give an example of what personally gets me irritated when opening the website without logging in (to see what it looks like from the outside, so to speak). My experience is that it takes many more clicks than necessary to find the routes from a particular place, and does not feel very user-friendly.
E.g. I open the site at the homepage and want to quickly see all routes from my home town, so I type "York" and click "enter". First I get told there are "multiple matches" so have to click again on the right one. But in the same menu there is also a choice of 3 "Slow Way places" including York - but why just a random three rather than York plus the 8 destinations of York's routes? Below that is a list of "Nearby Slow Ways" - but again why just 6 and not all 8?
Once I've got to the "place" page (it's not obvious that you can click on the map to get there) there's a lot of information about York before I can finally see not one but two lists of York's Slow Ways. One is called "Routes Status" and the other below is called "Slow Ways connecting York". I wonder why there are two lists? Could they be combined to show all the relevant information in one table?
I'm interested to know from other users whether you get similarly frustrated, and from the Slow Ways team whether some or all of the above streamlining ideas can be included in a website revision.
Thanks!

Hello,
Not too moany at all. Thank you so much for your honest feedback which we really appreciate. Particularly ways in which the site could make the user journey easier.
I've passed on all of your ideas to the web developer to see what might be possible.
Best wishes,

Thank you Cristie :-)
Meanwhile I'm really appreciating the website developments that have happened so far. It's a massively complex task for the developers.
