This one looks a real challenge, I suspect the track across the airstrip should be a highway but I agree if it's not an ORPA we could be waiting a long time for a DMMO application to be processed. In the meantime this will be a long walk, best get the train. I will take another look when I have an hour or two to spare.

Thanks for taking a look and for being willing to take another look.  It does sound like a tricky one.

    Best wishes,

An interesting area. Regarding Padmar-1 I think it should be left on. The track across the airstrip has been identified by the Ramblers in the 'Don't Lose your Way' project. The tracks shows up on the early OS map 1" to 1 mile dated about 1840 and as the airstrip was not a wartime airfield there should not have been war time closure of the route. It may well be a public right of way but is unrecorded. Find my Street shows it as a street but not maintainable at public expense, it may still have public highway rights of some status. Add to that the illogical footpaths that meet and cross the railway, they serve no logical purpose to make a journey. Finally a dead end path at the parish boundary an extension to this also on the RA Don't Lose Your Way.

I offer a Padmar-2 but this is only from my desk in the Midlands using OS and Google Street View. There are insufficient footpaths to avoid some road walking and the roads are narrow with little or no verge, just hope they are not too busy. The Castle Inn had good reviews but the last was 2020 so suspect it's gone.

    Hi Ken,

Thanks so much.  I agree and will leave Padmar one where it is, thank you for creating Padmar two as an alternative option.

    Best wishes,
    Cristie
