Review photos: Loading queries and mysterious disappearance
While checking a recently edited review (HarNor 3 - highly recommended) I realised that the newly uploaded photos somehow hadn't been uploaded.
When I loaded them I had left a bug report (on the main site) about some strange/unhelpful things that happened - slowness and a lingering "no file chosen" message.
Thinking that was a glitch and explained the disappearance I tried editing the review and reuploading. But while re-uploading them I had a similar problem. At first I was very pleased to see that filenames were appearing instead of the NFC message but then for later photos it was the NFC msg again, but only from photo 6 onwards. I started writing this comment up, and flicking back and forth between browser tabs to check details and then found the earlier ones had now changed from filenames to NFC as well.
So... decided to edit the review once again but found that the photos were in fact there! Pleased to see them, I added the two I hadn't loaded yet . But, wary, decided to check the review itself and found no photos. Hmph.

Hi Daisy,
That does sound very odd. I'll mention it to Darren to see what might be happening. Please could you let me know what device and browser you were using?
Best wishes,

It's Google Chrome and Acer Aspire, hope you don't need the model no. PS looks like there are now 22 photos, some repeats.

Hi guys,
I use Firefox and am having the same problem - I go in to edit a review (actually to upload photos). The photos sem to upload and do appear on screen but when I click save and check the review, the photos aren't there. Have tried several times. Hope you can advise.

Hi Stuart
Have you tried going back to the review again today, and if that doesn't work then tonight perhaps? I can't remember the details of what happened and I don't know if Darren intervened behind the scenes but I think, maybe, there is just a terribly long lag between uploading the photos and them appearing on the site. And that it was hours or a day rather than minutes.
Hope your photos turn up. Daisy

I had the same problem. It was a caching issue so the new photos turned up.. after a short wait

Hi Stuart, Daisy and David,
David is absolutely right, there can be a delay in the caching. Please do let us know though Stuart if they still haven't appeared after a few days? We're always working to improve things and some are quicker to fix than others.
Best wishes,

Thanks for your replies and advice Daisy, David and Cristie,
As you say, the photos appeared after a delay. I'll be more patient next time!!
Best wishes
Stuart
