How to use .gpx with OS Maps app
Hi,
The FAQ on how to navigate and not get lost says:
"To follow Slow Ways routes on a phone or device, download them onto a navigation app like OS Maps, MapMyWalk, Strava or Viewranger."
How do I do this?
I have the OS Maps app and a downloaded OS map for the area I want to walk on my android phone. How do I add the .gpx file to the OS Maps app? Does it need to go into a particular folder?

Hi Allan, if you go to your selected slowway on the slowways site and download the gpx file onto your phone, my phone used to show a message saying download completed. I would then tap this message and I could open it up in OS maps. I then save it as a route.
Lately, it does not show a downloaded message so I go to the settings in my browser and open the downloads folder, then open the gpx file from there and choose open in OS maps.
Hope that helps
Ross

Thanks Ross, I'll give that a try.

That's worked great, just needed to open the file with OS Maps.
I guess this leads on to another question, is it possible to download an entire web of routes for a particular place in one .gpx file. I'm currently going through downloading all the routes going through my town & it's a little laborious.

No, not unless the route has been captured from beginning to end within the one gpx file.

Downloading a web as one gpx file is something we're currently developing. I'm not sure of the timescales but it is on it's way.
