A Slow Way is a route for walking or wheeling between two neighbouring places. Slow Ways uses a distinctive geometric network that makes it easier for people to image and plan journeys. While the shape of this network has its advantages, it also means that some places are connected by suggested Slow Ways and some places are not. The decision of which places should be connected by Slow Ways was made by a team of volunteers through a series of peer reviews. They did this by considering population sizes of settlements and potential flows of people, not just between neighbouring settlements but over longer distances too. Where possible, when combining multiple routes, we did not want people to have to go too far out of their way. The result is that while most of the network is strong, there may be some Slow Ways missing from the network. If you have a suggestion for a missing Slow Way - post it here. Please include the names of the two neighbouring places as the title of your post.
